PANews reported on May 6 that the privacy blockchain project Tari Labs has officially launched its mainnet and introduced a desktop mining application for general users called "Tari Universe." The platform employs a merged mining mechanism with Monero (XMR), allowing users to participate in XTM token mining using their personal computers, with an average daily mining duration exceeding 4 hours. During the testnet phase, 100,000 users participated, and the application features a built-in visual mining interface that allows real-time adjustment of hash power allocation. Tari continues Monero's privacy protection philosophy by integrating the Mimblewimble protocol for lightweight anonymous transactions and innovatively introducing a reusable emoji address system. Its self-developed RandomX algorithm is specifically designed to be ASIC-resistant, preventing the hash power monopoly seen in Bitcoin mining.

Tari Labs was founded by early Monero contributor Naveen Jain and others, with investments from institutions such as Blockchain Capital and Pantera, raising over $14 million since 2018. The project attracts community participation through airdrop activities, requiring users to complete tasks such as social media interactions to receive rewards.
