Tether CEO Unveils AI Platform With USDT and Bitcoin Payments
- Tether AI Project Integrates USDT and Bitcoin into AI Agents
- Stablecoin USDT Takes Center Stage in AI-Powered Payments
- Tether focuses on decentralization with AI peer-to-peer network
Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, has unveiled its latest AI-focused project. Dubbed Tether AI, the product promises to be a fully open-source AI execution platform that will be compatible with a variety of hardware and devices. The announcement was made by Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, who shared details of the initiative on his official X Network profile.
According to Ardoino, the system is designed to operate without central points of failure, eliminating the need for API keys. One of the main differentiators is the integration with the Wallet Development Kit (WDK), which will allow direct transactions in USDT and Bitcoin. He claims that the technology will “enable an unstoppable peer-to-peer network of billions of AI agents.”

The proposal comes at a time when AI solutions are gaining prominence in the cryptocurrency sector. Agents based on natural language models are increasingly being used to interpret market data, detect behavior patterns and make automated payments with cryptos.
The Tether AI project will have a dedicated website, tether.ai, and may incorporate Keet — the company’s decentralized P2P communication application — and other data tools still in development. The idea is to create an ecosystem that unites artificial intelligence, cryptocurrencies and decentralized applications in the same modular and adaptable environment.
In recent years, Tether has been expanding its involvement in the AI sector. In 2023, it made a financial investment in Northern Data, a German data center operator specializing in high-performance computing infrastructure. The company subsequently increased Northern Data's debt financing to $610 million, strengthening its focus on projects that combine computing power with blockchain solutions.
With this, Tether signals that it intends to position artificial intelligence as a key tool for the automation and decentralization of cryptocurrency operations, expanding the reach of USDT in new digital environments.
